AMD is now preparing to launch its upcoming FidelityFX Super Resolution. This will reportedly be Team Red's counter to the Nvidia AI-powered graphics booster for their RTX graphics card. This makes the Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs become even more competitive against the Nvidia RTX 3000-series GPUs.

AMD Fidelity FX release date

AMD has teased their upcoming FidelityFX during the announcement of their new cards, but have reportedly otherwise still been quite lipped regarding the tech. Now, according to the reports of Wccftech, AMD is reportedly about to roll out their very own sampling technology in a particular Adrenaline Radeon driver update coming out in March (date to be confirmed) which will then be able to help it level up the playing field against its rival Nvidia.

AMD's upcoming FidelityFX most likely won't be just a resolution upsampling either. When the company previously announced the RX 6000-series, it then said that it was reportedly working along with developers in order to implement yet a number of different features like the Ambient Occlusion, Contrast Adaptive Sharpening, and the Variable Shading, some of the games already have them like "Horizon: Zero Dawn" as well as "World of Warcraft: Shadowlands", according to the story from TechRadar.

Radeon RX 6800 GPUs

The upcoming driver update will reportedly include some improvements to AMD's upcoming Radeon Boost technology in order to fix problems along with its dynamic scaling wherein the GPU would detect fast on-screen motion as well as reduce the rendered frame resolution in order to speed up the frame rates. When AMD had previously launched the said Big Navi cards some time late last year, they were reported to be AMD's first foray into the wold of ray tracing.

This was even though both the said Radeon RX 6800 XT as well as the Radeon RX 6800 are said to be great GPUs. The whole lack of anything would be equivalent to Nvidia's said Deep Learning Super Sampling or DLSS and would really hold them back.

Nvidia RTX GPUs

DLSS would allow the Nvidia RTX GPUs just like the RTX 3080 and the RTX 3070 to be able to render frames at a much lower resolution while using machine learning in order to upscale the whole resolution on the said rendered frame up to 1080p or even up to 4K. This would allow for a much faster rendering when ray tracing is activated in order to maintain a said viable framerate while still playing certain games "Cyberpunk 2077" as well as "Watch Dogs: Legion".

Since the powerful AMD Big Navi cards are said to lack the very same tech, they still had to render each said frame at a much higher resolution. This will give the GPU a much more intensive process which will also slow the card down relatively more when compared to the Nvidia GPU when activating the ray tracing.

With the AMD FidelityFX, however, AMD should reportedly be able to cut straight into Nvidia's own advantage on this particular front. This would then make their cards function more competitively against the comparable Nvidia RTX 3000-series GPUs.
