On February 4, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg made a surprising appearance just days after Elon Musk appeared on the platform.

The social networking billionaire talked about his firm's Reality Labs division, which is creating products or social experiences around virtual reality or VR and augmented reality or AR. Zuckerberg said that Facebook has a four to five year roadmap planned out.

Just like Elon Musk, Zuckerberg appeared on "The Good Time Show", which is a tech and culture segment that is helmed by Sriram Krishnan, who has worked for Twitter, Snap and Facebook in the past, and product direct at Facebook Aarthi Ramamurthy.

The show was scheduled as a chat with the leader of Facebook's Reality Labs, Andrew Bosworth. It also featured Fidji Simo, the head of the Facebook App. Before they went live, Krishnan teased on Twitter that there would be a special guest, and it ended up to be Mark Zuckerberg.

What is Clubhouse app?

Clubhouse was founded by Rohan Seth, the former Google staffer and Paul Davison, a former Pinterest staffer.

According to their respective LinkedIn profiles, they launched Alpha Exploration Co. at the start of 2020 as the parent entity of Clubhouse. Davison is listed as the co-founder and the CEO, while Seth is listed as co-founder.

According to CNBC, as of May 2020, the company was valued at $100 million after gaining $12 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz. As of January 2021, it claimed to have had two million people using the platform. The Clubhouse now has more than 180 investors.

How to download the app and join?

The Clubhouse app is only available for download through the iOS App Store. There is no Android version yet but the company is said to be working on it.

Because of the inclusion of celebrities and the lack of sign-ups, Clubhouse is currently an exclusive app, but the team behind it says that he plan is to open it up for the public.

Clubhouse can scan the contact list of the user who download it, informing the friends and the family members that are already on the app that the user signed up. It is not guaranteed, but that could be a way of getting complete access.

While anyone who has an invite from an existing user can join the chat, everyone else has to sign up and be added to the waitlist. Once inside and once approved, the users are then given the opportunity to invite their friends. The company has not shown a timeline for when it will be available for everyone in the world.

In October 2020, Clubhouse said that it was working on improving the app's audio moderation after some incident reports were filed about intense conversations on topics of ethnicity, racism, gender, identity and religion was hosted on the app.

The team is also aware that it will become much more difficult to moderate user content as more people are allowed to join the chat rooms. Moderators can now mute, block and report in-room chat, they can also end sessions if necessary.
