YouTube confirmed that it is working on a new feature that would soon allow its users to post five to 60 seconds videos. However, the new Clips feature is currently unavailable to iOS users.
According to Android Central's latest report, Lester Chen, the global head of Gaming Creators of YouTube, confirmed the social media platform's new project.
"Today we are launching an experimental version of Clips on YouTube. Check out videos on the Creator Insider channel and test it out yourself!" said Chen via his official Twitter account.
"Clips are 5-60 sec, shareable, segments of content (Live/VOD) that live on top of the original video," he added.
YouTube's new Clips feature
The tech giant platform has just started testing its latest Clip feature, which is also available on Twitch. This new feature allows creators to record very short segments from their live streams or videos. However, it is only available on desktop and Android smartphones.
Although this is the case, the popular video platform confirmed that it will also release the new feature on iOS devices very soon. CNET reported that the users can use the new feature if their YouTube app has a new icon that looks like a pair of scissors.
Once they click it, there will be an option that allows them to create a custom clip from whatever video they are watching. After they created their clip, they can share the looping footage on other platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
