Xiaomi has announced last December that the MIUI 12.5 will be released this year. Initially, it was launched on that same month for Chinese users. Now, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be released globally by February 8. The new 12.5 update from Xiaomi's own custom interface MIUI. According to GSM Arena, it will be bringing numerous aesthetic additions, as well as privacy improvements. The new launch will be debuted in a Facebook livestream on their official Facebook page.
Xiaomi MIUI 12.5 New Features
As mentioned, the update includes new improvements for users from its predecessor update which is the MIUI 12. However, as Gadgets 360 notes, the features will be the same as that offered in the Chinese market since December.
It will be offering a sandbox support for photos and a new MIUI+ that will be used to connect the Xiaomi phone to a computer/Windows desktop. It will also launch improvements on the Floating Windows that allows users to run numerous apps seamlessly, cleaner user interface, as well as clipboard protection and approximate location sharing. Moreover, it will house updated Mi Browser apps and Noted to the new device.
The highlight of the MIUI 12.5 update is the MIUI+ which allows users to smoothly connect their device to a computer. Its function is quite similar to that of the Your Phone app created by Microsoft. The MIUI+ allows users to connect their phone with a Windows PC so notifications, photos, and text messages can flow freely from the two devices. In addition, users can also access clipboard data from their phone as well as other apps on their mobile device using their PC.
The MIUI 12.5 is also known by China primary users to consume about 32 percent less memory in terms of system operations as compared to its previous version. In terms of power consumption, it also provides a 17 percent decrease. GSM Arena notes that Xiaomi wanted people to know that the upgrade is a major step towards their innovation in their 2021 power phone list.

So far, Xaomi has not yet announced a list of devices supported by the 12.5 However, in the last beta program for the 12.5 Xiaomi provided a list of the following devices that have participated. Most likely, we can assume that some of the supported devices will be coming from this list.
