Verizon FIOS has been reported by its users to have connectivity issues and internet outages, and the company acknowledged the problems of its connections and said that they are working on fixing the service for everyone. The company has been having problems with its connections lately, with the East Coast of the country sharing the same sentiments.
The country's second-largest telecommunications company, Verizon, has been facing internet outages with its FIOS service since Tuesday, and continues its reign of terror until now, with users complaining over the issue.
Down Detector. com has received several complaints from Verizon FIOS users, with over 46 percent of the complaints pointing out to Landline internet, which is the wired connection offered by the company. On the other hand, around 31 percent of the reports were pointing to mobile internet or data connections, and 22 percent point to cellular network connections or mobile phones.
Verizon FIOS Internet Outage: Connected with East Coast Connectivity Issues?
According to CNN, the main issues and point of impact of the Verizon FIOS internet outage are centered on the country's East Coast, with significant effects on New York, Boston, Washington, and other cities and states.
The company claimed that it had restored several services in the areas affected by the outage, but reports were streaming on Down Detector's website until 3 PM, Pacific Time.
The only issue mentioned by Verizon is the disconnection of a fiber line in Brooklyn, New York, that has been cut down. There were no further explanations from Verizon, and how it affected the services in other cities, counties, and states.
The Federal Communications Commission's acting Chairwoman, Jessica Rosenworcel, also mentioned that the FCC would join in the investigation and restoring the connection in a tweet she shared. The agency also acknowledges that the internet outage was widespread in the country, particularly on the East Coast.
Verizon: Here's What To Do If You Are Experiencing Internet Problems
According to Verizon's website, users need to access the Verizon Troubleshooter, if users are continuing to experience this problem with their internet connection that uses the FIOS systems from the company.
The steps would determine if there is an outage in the area and look for the issues that might be present in the current location of the user that has filed the report. It would also review one's account for any anomalies that may interrupt service, with a self-testing feature.
