Intel unveils its most awaited Iris Xe desktop-based GPU! Reports stated that the new product brings new advanced features that will surely change the consumers' gaming experiences.
According to XDA Developers' latest report, the tech giant manufacturer first unveiled its Intel Iris Xe MAX discrete GPU, together with its 11th-gen Tiger Lake processors, for thin and light laptops.
The latest GPU offered significant improvements compared to the Iris Xe-LP integrated GPU. And now, Intel has now unveiled the Intel Xe MAX discrete GPU for desktops to take thins a step further.
Intel stated that the new cards offer three display outputs capable of hardware video decode, encode acceleration, and 4K output. Aside from these features, the new GPU would also have Adaptive Sync, Display HDR support, and AV1 decode support.
Intel Iris Xe MAX's specs
The new hardware offers 80 execution units, which are comparatively less than the 96 EUs offered on the mobile integrated variant. It also features artificial intelligence capabilities since it has DP4a deep-learning inference acceleration.
On the other hand, the new GPU will also get the entire memory bandwidth along with a dedicated 4GB of VRAM. Although it offers new exciting features, the new product should not drop in performance since it is a desktop part. This means that the Intel Iris Xe MAX is less constrained by hearing or power.
The new Intel Xe MAX desktop GPU is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses and mainstream desktops. Since this is the current decision of the company, regular consumers will not be able to buy the latest product.
Is it designed for gaming?
According to The Verge's latest report, the latest Intel Iris Xe MAX is not specifically designed for gaming. But, it can still perform well in gaming PCs since it has new advanced features that can support the latest titles.
