Apple is said to release its very first iPhones that come with Wi-Fi 6E support this upcoming 2021, according to the Barclays analyst Thomas O'Malley and Blayne Curtis. The iPhone 13 WiFi 6E could be the phone's strongest selling point when it comes out.
Apple iPhone 13 Wifi 6E Support
In a certain research note that was shared with MacRumors as of recent, the analysts even wrote that the investor sentiment that was surrounding Apple supplier Skyworks has even become way "too negative" due to the semiconductor company apparently known to be supplying the various components for this year's upcoming iPhone 13 models. This would include WiFi 6E power amplifiers
The analysts had stated that the chipmaker Broadcom would also stand to benefit from both Samsung and Apple adopting the upcoming Wi-Fi 6E some time this year. It was reported some time earlier this month that Samsung introduced its upcoming Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphone along with Wi-Fi 6E support that was based on the Broadcom chip.
Will there be an iPhone 13?
The information was said to be pretty concrete coming after Barclays analysts had stated that the upcoming iPhone 13 models might support Wi-Fi 6E some time last month. Wi-Fi 6E is said to offer both the features and the capabilities of Wi-Fi 6 which include higher performance, faster data rates, lower latency, and others extended well into the said 6 GHz band.
The upcoming additional spectrum is said to provide a whole lot of airspace beyond the current utilized 2.4 GHz and the 5GHz Wi-Fi. This is expected to result in increased bandwidth as well as less interference for the devices that are expected to support Wi-Fi 6E.
Wi-Fi 6 for iPhones
Some time earlier this year, the FCC had adopted new rules that make the known 1,200 MHz of spectrum in the said 6 GHz band readily available for unlicensed use over in the United States. Another article by TomsGuide suggests that while the upcoming Apple iPhone 13 might be a little way off at this current point, there have already been a number of rumors regarding what to expect of the upcoming Apple iPhones.
It was then stated that from all of the available information online, the iPhone 13 is now set to offer a whopping 120Hz LTPO display on both of their Pro models, improved battery life all thanks to the more efficient 5G modem. This will also come out with quite substantial upgrades to the phone's all-important camera. This will include a LiDAR sensor even for the cheapest iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini.
