After being released in beta a month ago, Samsung has officially launched Samsung Internet, the company's very own web browser that is available for Samsung devices.
Samsung Internet Update 13.2
According to PhoneArena, Samsung Internet 13.2 is now available and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, meaning there are several new additions to the app that can enhance user experience, particularly your safety.
Based on the report, the main highlight of the app's new update is the Smart Protect, a brand new security feature Samsung developed to help detect any malicious websites that could be sending you malicious software.
Once the feature detects that you are trying to go to a suspicious website, you will be notified and prompted to return to the previous webpage you were on.
The feature is incredibly helpful, seeing as there are now tons of attackers using websites that will convince you to download malicious software that they can use to siphon important details from your phone, including your name, address, and your bank accounts, or maybe spy on you using your device.
But Samsung Internet 13.2 has more to offer.
'Better Dark Mode' and More
There's also a little update that allows users to tap the URL bar at the top of your screen, which brings up the quick access menu that can help you navigate to the URL you see in the clipboard with just a single tap.
You can also search for the settings that can configure your browser with the search functionality app from Settings.
Lastly, smartphone users who prefer dark mode can now take advantage of Samsung Internet's "better dark mode," which helps generate a dark mode theme for websites that don't have theirs.
Based on the report, this particular feature takes advantage of Google's "force dark mode."
If you are already using the Smartphone Internet and still don't see these features, make sure you update your app, but those who download and install it now should see all of these features upon installation.
One of the Safest Smartphone Browsers
Safety and privacy are among people's priorities these days when they use any smartphone apps, so Samsung Internet's Smart Protect should give people assurance that they can avoid downloading viruses into their phones.
Moreover, it appears like the Samsung Internet browser gives the most private browsing experience to users, as per MakeUseOf.
Besides Smart Protect, Samsung's very own browser app can help you Block unwanted pages as well as those pesky pop-ups, plus it comes with a third-party ad blocker to avoid those invasive ads that often disrupt your browsing experience.
But perhaps the best feature is its Smart anti-tracking feature that actually works by removing tracking cookies and disables websites from tracking your activities online.
However, it's still best to configure your browser and check its privacy settings.
With the enhanced features of the latest Samsung Galaxy S20 series, it's always best to keep your entire phone experience safe and private, so you'll definitely want to give the Samsung Internet Browser a go if you haven't yet.
