EA servers are down which is a surprising turn of events as usually, it is usually games that suddenly stop working. However, it seems like EA is down as of the moment and it is leaving gamers puzzled as to what exactly happened.
EA unable to connect to Apex servers
At first, it seemed like only a game was affected, the popular game Apex. However, upon further investigation, it was found that Apex was not the only game that players were not able to play. Another game that reportedly had problems is Battlefront 2.
According to the report by DownDetector, it can be seen that due to Apex being down on a different platform and Battlefront 2 on another, the problem could be bigger than just these two games alone. The relation between both of these games is that they both run under EA servers.
According to the comment section on DownDetector, the complaint regarding a player unable to connect to EA servers Apex was notably for the PS4. In the comment section, there were a number of replies that had confirmed that the game was indeed down for the PS4 version which was pretty frustrating for gamers.
Another person had noted that they were unable to connect to Apex servers which seem to be a huge problem as of the moment. Servers being down at a very unexpected time and without warning could be really hard for gamers especially if they had something special set for that specific play time.
What happened to EA?
As for Battlefront 2, the complaint was said to be on the PC which is a different platform for the game. Another comment was pretty harsh regarding EA Unable to connect saying this was "unrespectful" which could probably mean disrespectful.
At the moment, a lot of complaints on Google are that Apex unable to connect to servers PS4 and a number of other heated complaints regarding EA servers down. It currently remains to be unseen as to whether or not this problem will go away in a split second or if gamers would have to wait for a significant period of time should the problem prove maybe bigger than just a small mishap.

When looking at the official Electronic Arts page on Twitter, there still seems to be no sign of what exactly is going on, how long the problem could take, or what the company is doing to remedy this problem. As seen on their Twitter page, it seems like the company does not really update gamers as to what happens when their servers are down.
This can be seen as there was no post regarding the previous servers down back in January 14, 15, and 16. Yes, the EA servers down is not something that only happened recently but has started to become a recurring problem. However, the problem back in January 14, 15, and 16, did not gain as much complaints and reports in comparison to the report as of the moment.
