Razer has revealed its latest tech concept that aids gamers in complex life situations, mainly focusing on the present pandemic brought by the COVID-19 virus with an N95 smart mask called "Project Hazel." Some different technologies and innovations brought out the very best and creatives of people in dealing with the global pandemic, and Razer's take is epic.
The Singaporean-American consumer electronics company, Razer, has ventured not only to the best it can offer for gaming equipment but also in the lifestyle area with their latest innovation, the Project Hazel. One would think that the new project is another gaming equipment because of one of its features like the RGB configuration, but that too comes in the smart mask.
COVID-19 has pushed humans to various restrictions including mass lockdowns, quarantines, and observing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) with the likes of face masks and face shields.
Razer Project Hazel: COVID-19 Ready with Stylish and Futuristic Protection
If CD Projekt Red's "Cyberpunk 2077" had a COVID-19 outbreak or any pandemic in-game, Razer's Project Hazel would probably be used and featured in the game for its futuristic-looking and tech features. According to Razer's website, Project Hazel is the world's smartest mask which protects from deadly viruses and uses a filtration system on its valves.
The mask is still a prototype and a work-in-progress as it still does not have a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval or rating for its safety and use. The face mask resembles an N95 respirator mask that has valves on either side of the cheeks, however, this prototype mask is reusable and personal equipment that one can invest in.
Investment, yes, because the pandemic would not be over anytime soon as not everyone would receive the vaccine because of its limited supplies that are dedicated to high-risk groups and frontliners first. Razer's Project Hazel may be late for almost several months but it still can be used during this pandemic, and even after the current status of the world.
Razer Project Hazel Smart Mask: Features, Price, Release Date
According to Razer, the Project Hazel features a voice changer that amplifies one's volume (despite being muffled by the mask) and changes it to robot-like sounds. Epic as it may sound, that is one technology that can be a big hit to everyone, as it adds excitement and flair to a plain old face mask.
The smart mask has five key features that Razer reasons for its creation, and those include: Safe, Social, Sustainable, Comfortable, and Personalized. The face mask features a recycled plastic cover that is transparent, having rubber seals on the nose bridge, chin, jaws, and the side of each cheek to prevent unfiltered air from entering the mask.
Moreover, the filtration system has a BFE rating that can be used for the entire day (full charge) and easily swap out filters, that not only cleans the air that comes in the mask, but also carbon dioxide that people exhale.
Razer's Project Hazel still has no official release date or price in this unveiling, but the company says it would be out soon.
