In 2018, Lululab, a company who just launched its products, brought a device they called the Lumini to CES. The device was a system that used a multispectral camera that can capture and analyze the features of your face.

An AI-powered algorithm would then use the scanned information to diagnose the skin issues of the person, such as acne and melasma. The AI would then recommend what skincare products that the person can use in order to treat them.

The Lululab Lumini was not something that you can purchase yourself, and that is something Lululab wants to change with its new device with its latest iteration on the idea, that is when they introduced Lumini PM.

Just like its predecessor, the Lumini PM analyzes your skin and it then suggests cosmetics, products and devices that will help make your skin look its best, according to News Break.

The smart mirror component of the Lumini PM looks just like an old Samsung Galaxy S5, which is not too surprising given that Lululab is grown out of Samsung's C-Lab accelerator.

You will get personalized recommendations through an accompanying mobile app and Lululab says that they will also be a community component so you can connect with people who have the same condition as yours.

This is not the first time that a company turn to skin scanners. Back in 2016, Lancome used the technology to make custom foundation for Nordstrom customers.

The Le Teint Particulier is fully custom foundation. It is available in more than 20 stores around the Untied States, you can get your skin scanned with a very accurate colorimeter and in five minutes, you will have a foundation that matches your skin color. You can also adjust the thickness and the oiliness of it in order to match your complexion.

Although it may be a bit expensive, as it cost around $88, people are into the product because it is difficult for some to find the right makeup that matches them.

Recently, at the same CES that Lululab introduced Lumini, Neutrogena introduced SkinScanner, which is attached to your iPhone to provide the same functionality as the Lumini PM.

Launched in 2018, the Neutrogena SkinScanner can be attached to the upper portion of a smartphone, and using a combination for sensors, it can give users the kind of magnified image of their facial skin that is used in before-and-after pictures in advertisements.

The scanner syncs up with a mobile app called Skin360, so no wires are required. It will then show a person's skin health over time and it suggest that they improve their skin.

The Neutrogena SkinScanner was unveiled at the yearly CES in Las Vegas. This device was one of the first connected beauty products that have been shown off at CES in the past few years, and it is a part of a larger attempt by traditional consumer product goods companies in order to adopt digital strategies that appeal to younger customers, according to The Verge.

Lululab did not state when the product will be available in the market, and they did not say how much it will cost. But people are expecting them to make this announcement during the CES event or weeks after.
