Pokemon GO Rocket leaders continue to threaten trainers throughout the game. However, tracking the Team Rocket leaders' boss Giovanni is quite difficult and battling against him is among the hardest fights players would encounter.
According to Game Rant, finding Giovanni requires much patience and perseverance since some Team Rocket grunts would disguise to trick the players. This guide provide tips on how to find Giovanni and the best counters to use against him.
Pokemon GO: How to Find Giovanni
Players would need to go through and complete all four missions in the Pokemon GO's Looming in the Shadows research. Once they completed the research missions, they will get the Super Rocket Radar, which would be hugely significant in pinpointing the location of Pokemon GO Rocket leaders' boss.
However, some Rocket grunts would deceive the players into fighting them by disguising as Giovanni. Good thing, players can always skip as they are not required to battle against all these grunts, saving time and effort for the leader himself. Instead, go ahead and spin the Pokestop to the back to find the location of the real Giovanni.
Pokemon GO Giovanni Best Counters
Once the real Team Rocket leader is found, players can now battle against him. Below are some suggestions for best counters against Giovanni to beat him out.
Giovanni's First Pokemon- Persian
Since Giovanni always uses a Persian, which uses normal, dark, rock, and fairy type moves, the best counter will be a fighting-type. Players may opt for Machamp with Counter and Cross Chop, Lucario with Counter and Power-Up Punch, a Poliwrath with Mud Shot and Power-Up Punch, or Blaziken with Counter and Blaze Kick, which will all be super effective against the Team Rocket leaders' Boss.
Giovanni's Second Pokemon - Garchomp, Nidoking, or Kangaskhan
For Giovanni's second Pokemon, he may choose between Garchomp, Nidoking, or Kangaskhan. If he picks dragon and ground type Garchomp, the best counters would be either Frost Breath and Ice Beam, Articuno with Ice Shard and Icy Wind, Dragonite with Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw, or Gardevoir with Charm and Psychic,. This is because Garchomp is weak into dragon, ice, and fairy type moves.
If Giovanni chooses Nidoking, a Ground and Poison-type that is weak to water, ground, ice, and psychic type moves. Some great counters would be Jirachi with Confusion and Doom Desire, Empoleon with Waterfall and Hydro Cannon, Dialga with Dragon Breath and Iron Head, or Kyogre with Waterfall and Surf.
Meanwhile, normal type Kangaskhan is weak against fighting type moves. Thus, Conkeldurr with Counter and Dynamic Punch, Lucario with Counter and Aura Sphere, Breloom with Counter and Dynamic Punch, or Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch are some great counter options.
Giovanni's Third Pokemon - Mewtwo
For his last Pokemon, Giovanni chooses the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo, which is a powerful psychic type, which is weak against dark type moves. Since Giovanni has shields to protect himself against two charged attacks, it is important for trainers to save their strongest Pokemon to battle against Mewtwo. They may opt for either Hydreigon with Bite and Dark Pulse, Tyranitar with Bite and Crunch, Weavile with Snarl and Foul Play, or Darkrai with Snarl and Dark Pulse.
