Twitter's latest provision and update for Android allowed its OS users to upload high resolution 4K images on the platform via the social media's applications. The short word social media is known as one of the best platforms to showcase high definition (HD) or high quality (HQ) images compared to other platforms like Facebook, which cuts image quality and resolution.
The social media and the company behind it have evolved from compressing photos and videos to minimal quality to unload high volume on its servers. HQ photos make their way to the platform (which takes a load for HQ). Twitter was known for initially compromising image quality upon upload but has improved since then, after user complaints and reports.
4K resolution images are the highest quality possible in present photos and cameras. Only limited platforms offer 8K image captures (and most are still in the video format). These HD photos' quality is hardly noticeable in the mobile platform, but it would be better to see them in 4K-ready displays such as laptops, desktop monitors, and 4K TVs.

Twitter's 4K: Now Available for the Google Android Platform
According to Android Police, Twitter has made 4K uploads for Android for this year only, which had a massive time gap compared to Apple's iOS, which had the highest resolution upload since last year, 2020. The feature is called "Load 4K" and is now available in the Android application of the social media platform.
Google's Android is usually not late in these kinds of updates, with some updates for devices earlier for the operating system as there are more users of the platform in the country and the globe. However, for the 4K image resolution dispute, Android seems to have been left behind, with the Apple iOS platform being favored more for its compatibility.
The new feature is available on its Beta testing phase for the Android platform, in version beta v8.76 and above. Twitter has not yet revealed when it would fully integrate 4K in the update version and move away from its beta testing phase.
Twitter 4K Android: Here's How to View and Upload Photos
The settings for uploading 4K resolution images to the platform is the same as Twitter for iOS platforms and Twitter for Android. The way to upload the photos is by creating a tweet with the "+" and Twitter logo, then selecting the 4K photo captured by one's device.
Since Twitter already supports the upload of 4K images, it would compress the photo only but would not sacrifice its quality as there would be an option where users can view the picture in 4K. The HQ photo's resolution for 4K is 1440x2160 pixels, enough to be highly-defined even on larger screen displays like 4K televisions.
To view a photo, Android users need to click on the image and press the ellipsis or "three dots," which reveals a menu, and then click "Load 4K." This feature would reload the photo and show the 4K image quality fully for the user.
