Every single month, Microsoft actually adds new games to its very own subscription service, the Xbox Game Pass. Oftentimes, the older games will be removed at the very same time. Unlike certain Games With Gold, players won't be able to keep them when they are permanently removed from the Xbox Game Pass. For those that want to keep the games, the only way to do this is to purchase them for good.

Xbox Game Pass January 2021

According to the story reported by Forbes, on January 15, Microsoft is reportedly removing four different games from the famous Xbox Game Pass. One of these games happens to be a classic indie game called "FTL: Faster Than Light".

This popular game puts players in command of their very own spaceship and will send players into a harsh galaxy that is seemingly filled with pirates, enemy ships, exploding suns, and even more. It is also a "spaceship simulation rougelike" where players will have to manage their own resources like fuel, power, and others. The crew will have to get to the very end without dying and this is quite challenging.

4 Xbox Game Pass games to be removed

However, "FTL" is actually included in the Xbox Game Pass for the PC, but for those that decide to buy it, it currently costs less than $3 for the Steam winter sale. There are actually three other games reportedly leaving the Xbox Game Pass in January.

Other games leaving the Xbox Game Pass in January:

  • "My Friend Pedro" (Console, PC)

  • "Tekken 7" (Console)

  • "Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet" (Console)

"My Friend Pedro" is a stylish 2D shooter that works by combining a healthy dose of serious ultraviolence along with cool bullet-time combat and quite like "FTL", it also has an awesome soundtrack. The user can also do quite a wide selection of things using the "focus" which will slow down time and allow players to dodge bullets, target a number of enemies at once, and even do flips in the air. This game allows players to feel that John Wick-like vibe while doing missions after missions.

"Sword Art Online", for those that haven't played it yet, has pretty positive user ratings over on Steam and is a very popular JRPG looter-shooter. This Japanese game even has a anime around it and the anime itself is also pretty popular when it comes to the games' fans and other anime fans.

"Tekken 7", on the other hand, is already very popular. This game has evolved over the years and is also used to be a competitor of Street Fighter. The game has been a massive influence for competitive games and to this day, it is also one of the grounds for competition.

Xbox Game Pass game replacement

All of these four games will reportedly leave the famed Xbox Game Pass in just less than two weeks. Microsoft should be announcing this month's very first wave of brand new Game Pass games quite shortly.
