'GTA Online' Cayo Perico Heist Treasure Chests: Locations and How to Find Them—Guide

"GTA Online" has featured another major heist on its platform, the Cayo Perico Heist, which invites players to work together in robbing a large island and has been up in the game for almost a month now. However, Rockstar Games does not stop there as they continue to add mini-upgrades that features a Treasure Chest that can earn up to $100,000 and RP.

Who does not want extra money during a heist, right? Extra cash while going to the side job or missions, exploring the small factors which all lead up to the main event, robbing the new island in-game. The popular action-adventure RPG franchise, Grand Theft Auto Online (GTA Online), has been around quite some time but has offered these heists that excite and invite gamers.

One notable factor that has been added to the game is additional money that is hidden by its developers, Rockstar Games, that would send its gamers to a wild hunt to locate the treasure chests. However, it would not be as easy as "taking candy from a baby," as "GTA Online" hid it in various locations that may prove users a hard time.

According to Game Pur, there are only two chests that appear in the game daily, but Rockstar Games would allow users to gather up to five chests that would also give a special bonus after completing the mini-mission. Finding the chests would be challenging as they might not be hidden in plain sight, but would surely blend well in the environment.

Moreover, each chest contains $15,000 and some RP, and so two of those is an easy and guaranteed $30,000 daily. If doing the treasure chest hunting in succession, players would need three full days to gather each, as it can only show two each day, and then GTA Online would reward players.

Two daily treasure chests appear every day, and "GTA Online" is surely making this a crazy hunt as some locations are challenging to spot and locate. The locations of each chest vary, but the sure trend with these chests is that it always spawns on land and underwater.

During a Scooping mission before the actual Cayo Perico Heist, treasure chests would appear randomly where players need to search the area and perform a sweep to locate them. Underwater treasure chests can only be located via the submarine after beginning a "Gathering Intel" mission.

Notably, these chests can only be accessible during the moments that lead to the heist, and searching for them after would already be impossible as the chests would disappear in the finale or once gamers step foot on the island (or under it).

If gamers manage to find five chests with the treasure hunt, Rockstar Games would reward a special bonus of $100,000 and RP. The reward would only last until January 6 while treasure chests would last until starting the main Cayo Perico Heist.
