The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES Convention, is the biggest tech event in the calendar. It is an annual event that is held every January and it brings tons of news announcements and the most anticipated product launches.

But the 2021 event is said to be a bit different as it will be online-only, like numerous shows and launches that we've seen in 2020. The organizer of the convention, the US Consumer Electronics Association or CTA, announced in July 2020 that the event in 2021 will all be online.

When is CES 2021?

There is a slight date change too, aside from the event going virtual. CES 2021 will now take place on Monday, January 11 through to Thursday, January 14, 2021. Most of the announcements will take place on January 11 as that scheduled as the press, analyst and media day.

According to the CTA, the CES 2021 will be an all-digital experience connecting customers, exhibitors, thought leaders and media from all over the world. The new format will allow people to hear from technology innovators, see cutting-edge technologies and view the latest product launches, as well as engage with global brands and startups from around the world.

The CTA added that they plan to return to Las Vegas, Nevada for CES 2022, combining the best elements for a physical and digital show. They will be updating the feature up to and throughout CES 2021, so you can view the announcements that actually matter, according to Exhibitor Online.

Tech to expect from CES 2021

Acer has fresh laptops every year, but the company recently announced updates in October 2020 at the Next At Acer Global Conference. There will be more innovations from the company in January 2021.

Arlo is one of the companies that makes regular announcements, but CES is usually a stage where the company does it. The US-only products will get a wider availability, and we may see an expansion of the Essentials range.

Asus usually launches a lot of CES and we can expect a great range of laptop formats, including Chromebooks. Asus has launched a teaser site for the event and it carries the Intel logo, so it is possible there will be Intel-powered devices next year.

Lenovo will showcase its technical skill and it is known for its laptop segments. CES 2021 may feature Lenovo's new laptops as the company is running a countdown to January 7, which is when the announcements will be made.

LG usually announces its full range of TVs and smart devices in the convention. LG has also confirmed that it will be hosting a virtual press conference, according to PR Newswire.

The company also confirmed a new version of its InstaView refrigerator for 2021. It is also confirmed that we will be seeing the launch of a new QNED Mini LED range of televisions. There will also be new OLED models.

Panasonic has also confirmed that it will be having a press conference at CES 2021. It says that it will be covering entertainment, mobility, supply chain, sustainability and consumer electronics.
