This new feature is really annoying. However, Apple's new feature is supposed to make users' life easier. The new automatic switching can identify which Apple device is on and would like to use your AirPods in real-time.

If you're using an iPad to stream music, your AirPods will automatically detect your activity and will activate immediately. But, many users complain that it is really frustrating to use.

Why? Because your iPhone or MacBook can take over your AirPods even if the one you're mainly using is your iPad. To help you get rid of it, here's a quick guide on how to deactivate the new annoying feature.

Deactivating Apple's automatic switching on iPhone

  • CNET explained that there's a way to turn off the new feature. All you need to do is follow these steps and you'll get rid of it as soon as possible.
  • The first thing you need to do is to open your device's "Settings App."

  • Once you're there, click the Bluetooth and then tap the "i" icon, which is located next to the name of your AirPods.
  • After that, you need to scroll down through the options until you reach the "Connect to this iPhone/iPad" option. Choose the "When Last Connected to This iPhone/iPad" option and choose the "Off" button below it.

Turning the feature on MacBook

  • First, you need to open your laptop's System Preferences and then select Bluetooth.
  • After that, choose the options next to the name of your AirPods.
  • Click on the "Connect to This Mac" drop-down option. After that, select the "When Last Connected to This Mac" option and then click the "Done" button.
  • To complete the process, all you need to do is close the System Preferences.

AirPods still has a great feature

According to The Verge's previous report, Apple's new AirPods Max can conserve its battery life. This feature allows you to use it 24 hours without the need for charging. The new wearable tech can do this by going into an ultra-low-power state when it is stored in its smart case. This clearly shows that Apple is making efforts to improve its users' experience.
