Hyundai accidentally revealed a website listing and pre-order for its 2022 IONIQ5 electric vehicle under the company's take on EV technology, featuring its limited specs, photos, and a look at the early concept. The company has taken down the pre-order reservation site now but was accessed via the web archives, revealing details about the new EV.

The famous South Korean car manufacturing giant, Hyundai, is gearing up for a busy 2021 for its next-generation innovation of an electric vehicle for the public to use and experience. Numerous vehicle manufacturers have now looked into electric vehicle technology, with the South Korean company joining the big leagues alongside Tesla, Volkswagen, Ford, BMW, etc.

Hyundai's IONIQ namesake would be the company's line of electric vehicles, having a suffix of the model variant with the IONIQ5 being one of the earliest reveals from the company. The IONIQ5 is an E-CUV or an electric crossover utility vehicle, meaning that it would be somewhere between a sedan and an SUV.

According to the Web Archive tool extracted from Hyundai, IONIQ5's reservation and the pre-ordering page has surfaced before deleting the website listing for people to see. Speculations surrounding the electric vehicle's launch and unveiling would be in early 2021, before mellowing down for production and release in the succeeding year of 2022.

The initial pre-orders were posted on Hyundai's Austria market website and said that the new electric vehicle would only have an initial and exclusive 150 units to be made, having a delivery date of either June or July 2021. However, this timeline differs from Hyundai's announcement of having the IONIQ5 in 2022, which may actually mean that it is for the wide public release.

The Korean Car Blog initially saw the listing and posted the leaks online, narrating how Hyundai released the reservation page and removed it after realizing that it has leaked the details to the new car. However, the reservation dates span from December 18, 2020, until January 31, 2021.

The web archive tool showed the specs of the Hyundai IONIQ5, detailing the first look technical specifications of the new electric vehicle.
