As 2020 is about to end with huge part of the world still on lockdowns, more people are still waiting for the vaccines and drugs to end the pandemic. While health is still the priority, gamers are actually anticipating a different thing: the Steam Winter Sale 2020.
Like the Summer Sale, the Winter Sale is expected to be the second biggest sale of the year in Steam. Here's what we know about the upcoming Steam event.
Steam Winter Sale 2020 start date and time
For sure, PC gamers are looking forward to this huge sale event as they will be able to get new items and games to keep them busy throughout the school or work break in time for the holidays. According to Slash Gear, Steam just officially announced the Steam Winter Sale 2020 via Twitter. Steam said on the tweet: "The #SteamWinterSale is nearly here! It's time to get cozy and stare at the Yule Log. Listen to that crackle!"
Although the start date and time was not provided, SteamDB started a Steam Winter Sale 2020 countdown, which leads the event to start on December 22 at around 1 p.m. ET.
Well, since Steam sales are regularly done on specific times of the year, it is easy to guess when the next steam sale will occur. Steam sales usually start at 1 p.m. ET on the third or fourth Thursday of month, except for the Autumn or Black Friday sales, which landed on Wednesdays in the recent years.
If we would follow the Autumn Sale and Halloween Sale, we can expect the upcoming Winter Sale to run for a couple of weeks, just like SteamDB's note on its website that it would end on January 5. This event also comes along the voting for the Steam Awards 2020, which will begin at 1 p.m. ET and end on January 3.
