The list of affected customers just keeps on growing after the gruesome hack by alleged Russian state hackers to SolarWinds' Orion software, with Nvidia and Intel reporting that their systems might also be compromised. These companies have relied on SolarWinds' cybersecurity and protection, which had unknowing breaches under its nose for a long time now.
All four companies have confirmed that they were also part of SolarWinds' clients who were using the same Orion platform which was the weak link that hackers exploited to get into the country's systems. According to the Wall Street Journal, each company has said that they have monitored and their systems if they exhibit a compromise after the recent attack.
Nvidia said that there were no shreds of evidence of an attack or the company has been affected by the recent attack. Intel also said the same thing, after looking into the company's network, specifically with backdoor access from the Russian hackers.
Additionally, Belkin and Cisco also said that there were no pieces of evidence of any hack or attack from the Russian APT29, also known as "Cozy Bear," which has been the main perpetrator of the crime. All four companies have confirmed that they were using the SolarWinds Orion platform but were not affected by the attack.
Moreover, other publicly traded companies and personal users have no recent reports of an attack or hack within their systems. It seems that the main targets of the Russian hackers were the five US government agencies, with the US Treasury and NTIA's email compromise report last week.
