TikTok's D'Amelio Sisters: Dixie Loses TikTok Account to Hackers While Charli Buys Family an LA Home

One of the biggest apps and social media platforms this year is TikTok, with millions of active users each month, starting when the COVID-19 pandemic took place and everyone is stuck home with basically nothing to do, but if there's anyone who got lucky on the platform, it would most likely be the D'Amelio family.

TikTok's Biggest Star

Although the most viral TikTok video of the year went to Bella Poarch, one of the most followed personalities on the website, the top content creator chosen by the platform is Charli D'Amelio, a former competitive dancer before becoming a social media influencer.

TikTok got more popular in 2020, but Charli had been on the platform since the summer of 2019 and even then, her short videos would instantly become viral.

In less than 18 months, the 16-year-old had already amassed 100 million followers on TikTok, a number that also helped her earn millions of dollars from sponsored posts and becoming a popular ambassador for many brands.

According to HypeBae, the young teenager's net worth has apparently reached $8 million, with each TikTok post allowing her to earn $100,000.

It's because of her viral fame that she was able to move out of her Connecticut family home to Los Angeles, where she and her family is reportedly staying in a Hollywood Hills mansion where she pays $35,000 per month, as per Variety.

Another D'Amelio Coming Through

But Charli was not the only lucky one in the family.

Charli's older sister, Dixie, has also started a great career through TikTok, where she has gained 46.4 million followers on the platform, and another 22.1 million followers on Instagram.

Through sponsored posts and collaborations, Dixie has also made a dizzying amount of money for a 19-year-old, which Cosmopolitan reports being at $3 million, almost the same amount she has earned in 2020 alone, which Forbes reported to be at $2.9 million.

It is unclear how much Dixie charges per sponsored post, but she may have the same rate as her sister, which means each post would be equivalent to $100,000.

The Hackings

Nevertheless, a life of fame is not without issues.

Recently, Dixie's TikTok account has been hacked on December 13, wherein the hacker/s have posted several videos on her account and even went live, something the teen's followers were able to capture.

By Monday, December 14, the young viral star's account has been completely deleted from the platform.

The supposed hacker uploaded videos referring to an Instagram account known as @lucifer, which, according to Insider, is associated with the Chucking Squad, a group of hackers who are known to hack famous celebrities' social media accounts.

However, D'Amelio's dad's TikTok account has been attacked as well, with posts referring to the same Instagram account.

Fortunately, both Dixie and her father's account was reinstated that Monday afternoon.

Charli had also been locked out of her TikTok account, but it was said to be for security purposes and to avoid the Chucking Squad from gaining access to her account.
