Many people are concerned about their belly fat. People would have made a New Year's resolution to reduce belly fat, and David Zinczenko reveals that the Zero Belly diet that can help people burn that excess fat.
Zinczenko is the author of a new book called "Zero Belly Diet" and co-author of "Eat This, Not That!" Zinczenko was overweight as a child and his father died at an early age due to a stroke probably because of obesity. He has studied a lot about belly fat and the way how to reduce it. He calls his approach as "Zero Belly," which is aimed at reducing inflammation, put an end to bloating and switch off your fat-storage genes.
"I've spent my entire career learning about belly fat: where it comes from, what it does to us, and how we can fight back," says Zinczenko.
Zinczenko had tested his belly reducing program and he found that an average person lost 4-inch just after six weeks of following his program. He reveals some food items that can be incorporated in the diet to reduce the belly fat.
Zero belly drinks
Plant-based smoothies includes protein, fiber, healthy fat and resveratrol, which is found in red fruits, dark chocolate and peanut butter.
Eggs
Eggs include choline, which is a nutrient that researchers claim turns off the genes responsible for gaining visceral fat.
Red fruits
An apple a day keeps the doctor away has been the saying for a long time. But Zinczenko suggests that a red apple a day can also help to reduce obesity genes.
Healthy fats
Olive oil is an example of healthy fats and it can assist in controlling hunger for up to four hours.
Oats, Rice, Beans and other fiber
These food items work along with the gut bacteria and turns off the genes responsible for obesity.
Plant protein
Some additional plant protein that is found in nuts such as almonds and pecans and in sunflower oil can also help reduce that extra belly fat. Plant-based protein powder can also be added to smoothies to get that extra benefit.
Lean meat
Lean meat such as chicken breast without the skin, white meat of turkeys and more can also fight belly fat.
Green tea and leafy vegetables
These food items assist in turning off the genes responsible for fat storage and reduce inflammation.
Spices
Some spices such as ginger and cinnamon also helps in reducing belly fat as they attack fat genes and also reduces inflammation.
