While there was no grandiose event for the reveal, Apple boasts its incredible features like the AirPods Pro: active noise cancellation, high-fidelity audio, spatial audio, and adaptive EQ.

There are tons to talk about this new Apple product and Tech Radar has provided extensive report about this headphone. Here is a rundown of everything you need to know about the Apple AirPods Max over-ear headphones.

Apple AirPods Max specs and design

AirPods Max uses Apple H1 headphone chip on each ear cup and is quite heavy at 385 grams. It has a total of nine microphones and uses Bluetooth 5.0. The headphones bears Apple's typical minimalist design with a stainless steel build and sleek lines. It comes in stylish colors of sky blue, pink, silver, space gray, and green.

The headband frame is made of stainless steel and can be extended to provide a perfect fit. They seem comfortable to wear with the knit mesh headband, which distributes the weight and reduces pressure on the head.

Earcups are padded with memory foam that keeps the AirPods Max comfortable to wear even after a long wear. As the earcups are attached to the headband, it could independently rotate to fit the user's head.

Apple revived the Apple Watch's Digital Crown dial to provide the ability to play, pause, or skip tracks, activate Siri, answer or end phone calls as well as precise volume control.

Meanwhile, the Apple Lightning port for charging is located at the bottom of the earcup. Unlike the iPhone 12 series, there is a charging cable included in the AirPods Max box.

Apple AirPods Max battery life and connectivity

The Apple AirPods Max wireless headphones could still excite hardcore audiophiles with such great listening experience, even without an additional adapter. It also supports Siri, so it can be use voice commands to make phone calls, play music, get directions, or control the volume.

The Apple AirPods Max can be used on devices that runs in iOS 14.3 or later, macOS Big Sur 11.1 or later, iPadOS 14.3 or later, tvOS 14.3 or later, or watchOS 7.2 or later. They can also work with Windows or Android devices, but the Automatic Switching or Spatial Audio will not be activated.

Meanwhile, with Active Noise Cancellation activated, the Apple AirPods Max can be used for up to 20 hours of talk time, high-fidelity audio, or movie playback. However, more hours can be added if ANC is deactivated since the feature significantly reduces the battery life. Moreover, putting the AirPods Max in Smart Case may add some listening time.
