"Cyberpunk 2077" is coming in hot and although a few critics have been able to note a couple of game bugs, developers are said to release a massive 50+ GB+ Day 0 patch for this AAA game. The game was tested on both NVIDIA and AMD in order to boil everything down to finding out exactly what is the best GPU for the game.
An article by Tomshardware tested "Cyberpunk 2077" at both Medium Ultra presets at 2160p,1440p, and 1080p resolutions. They also reportedly enabled NVIDIA RTX at both Medium and Ultra presets. The game also runs on four different DLSS presets that include DLSS Balance Ultra-Quality, Quality, Balanced, and Performance. The Ultra preset is notably intended for 8k or if users would want to sacrifice quality in favor of the games' performance in 4K.
The test results came from Tomshardware which was without any DLSS and Raytracing modes enabled.
'Cyberpunk 2077' benchmark MEDIUM results:
60 FPS at 1080p (Medium) on the NVIDIA GTX 1070 or the AMD RX 5600 XT at bare Minimum
60 FPS at 1440p (Medium) on the NVIDIA RTX 2060S or the AMD RX 5700 XT at bare Minimum
60 FPS at 2160p (Medium) on the NVIDIA RTX 3080 or the AMD RX 6800 XT at bare Minimum
4K would require either the AMD Radeon 6800 XT or the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and above in order to retain a 60 FPS.
'Cyberpunk 2077' benchmark ULTRA results:
60 FPS+ at 1080p (Ultra) on the NVIDIA RTX 2060S or AMD RX 5700 XT at bare Minimum
60 FPS+ at 1440p (Ultra) on the NVIDIA RTX 3070 or AMD RX 6800 at bare Minimum
30 FPS+ at 2160p (Ultra) on the NVIDIA RTX 3070 or AMD RX 6800 at bare Minimum
In ultra, it was said that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 can achieve 46 FPS while the RX 6800 XT is only capable of 34 FPS.
'Cyberpunk 2077' benchmark NVIDIA RTX Ultra with Raytracing and DLSS:
60 FPS+ at 1080p for Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q/B on the NVIDIA RTX 3070 and above GPUs
60 FPS+ at 1080p for Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res on the NVIDIA RTX 3090 and above GPUs
30 FPS+ at 1440p for Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q/B on the NVIDIA RTX 3080 and above GPUs
30 FPS+ at 1440p for Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res on the NVIDIA RTX 3080 and above GPUs
30 FPS+ at 2160p forUltra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q/B on the NVIDIA RTX 3090 and above GPUs
30 FPS+ at 2160p for Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res which is Not Available
The article by WCCFTech, however, does not note the Raytracing and DLSS performance when it comes to using AMD's Radeon. While the battle is still ongoing for NVIDIA and AMD to be able to supply the best GPUs, the battle for consumers to buy AMD Radeon online or buy NVIDIA RTX online is getting harder and harder with the stocks running out.
