In the time of social distancing, there has been a significant increase in the need for messaging apps in order to stay connected. With a new chat application unveiled at the GITEX 2020, parents can be assured that their kids are talking to legitimate and verifiable contacts.
Enter Dr. Nee, described as a "verifiable chat application," which seeks to reduce the risks children face when interacting with others via online chatting apps. Having children talk to strangers - and potentially scammers - can expose them to problems like cyberbullying and exploitation of personal and sensitive data. The verifiable chat application is among the numerous tech exhibitors at the 40th GITEX Technology Week held at the Dubai World Trade Center from December 6 to 10.
The game-changing app is among the first social messaging services that require verification of its users' identities before us. Dr. Nee is an all-in-one communication app, promising unlimited text, voice, and video conferencing features. Developed by Omanee and originally registered in Singapore, the app is already available in a number of Southeast Asian countries, having more than 150,000 verified users. By 2021, it seeks to launch its verifiable chat services in Dubai during the city's "The Race - Money 4.0" event set for March 19 to 20.
"We're now looking at expanding in regions like the Middle East and India," said Omanee CEO Bui Nis in a statement.
Aside from keeping children safe from the dangers lurking in the online space, Dr. Nee is also a great platform for conducting business and enjoy services like e-commerce, banking, and more. Its advantage comes from the developers' focus on creating a safe and secure environment. To achieve this, Dr. Nee implements an identification system integrated with its "ecosystem platform," which includes IDBank, IDShare.info, IDShare.net, and more.
The Omanee CEO explains that the app's identity-verified capabilities are made possible with a "Know Your Customer (KYC)" function, knowing who is on the other end and even if the image on their profiles is real.
Dr. Nee also has a reward system, allowing users to earn points in-app. These points are redeemable with participating stores in a combination of communication and e-commerce all in a single application.
