According to Haveeru Online's latest report, the banned owners were selling PS Plus Collection, a collection of video games. They are selling this service to the PS4 owners.
What's bad about this issue is that the PS5 users only received the PS Plus Collection for free, as reported by Gadgets 360. The package consists of 20 games in total, which can be downloaded for free on the new console.
These include games like "God of War," "Bloodborne," "Fallout 4," and many more.
PS4 owners are also getting banned
PS5 owners are not the only ones getting banned. PS4 users are also reportedly receiving two months of suspensions on their accounts. Most of the restricted accounts seem to be from Hong Kong.
A Twitter user claimed that the accounts are usually from Hong Kong.
"Thousands of PSN accounts have been banned, and according to community discussions, these accounts are concentrated in HK(@PlayStationHK ) and have in common the receipt of Sony's PS Collection service for PS Plus, which contains several PS4 games for free," said @zhihuwong via Haveeru Online.
How to check if PS5 account is banned
PlayStation's official website stated that the banned accounts are those that are not obeying its Terms of Service, which includes the Community Code of Conduct. It said that once you breach these rules, your account will be temporarily or permanently banned.
Once you receive an error code when you try to sign in to PSN, that means that your account or PlayStation console was already suspended. PlayStation said that it usually sends an email why the account was banned and how long the suspension will last.
PlayStation advises the console owners to always check their junk or spam folder for the warning. However, if your account was banned and you didn't receive any email, you can contact the company's support team. If you don't want to get banned, it is highly advisable not to sell your free PS Plus Collection access.
