"Pokemon GO" is looking forward to the start of 2021 for its recently announced "Legacy 40 Challenge" that asks Poke Trainers to complete specific tasks in exchange for various amazing rewards that await. The challenge would begin by December 31, 2020, which would also determine those who will be allowed to join the special event.
Niantic Lab's popular favorite AR game, "Pokemon GO," are now asking for all of the Level 40 trainers by December 31 to secure their places and join the Legacy 40 Challenge. This event is under the GO Beyond update that is now rolling out to selected regions that would enjoy the new Kalos region and gameplay.
The augmented reality (AR) game has recently given players various opportunities, which mirrors the soon coming Legacy 40 Challenge; however, the following year's new challenge would pose a more challenging quest as it would require particular tasks to level up to the 50th mark.
"Pokemon GO" is changing how things run by level 40 and would have a cap for trainers, meaning that the regular XP grind would not be sufficient anymore. The change would come with new tasks and the Legacy 40 Challenge that puts a Gyarados hat as its prize.

The sole requirement for doing the Legacy 40 Challenge is to achieve level 40 by December 31, 2020, and the tasks would automatically be handed out to trainers. Being short of the required level will forfeit the challenge event and the chance to receive the exclusive Gyarados hat.

'Pokemon GO': Legacy 40 Challenge Tasks and Rewards
According to Game Pur, the list below includes all of the tasks and rewards that would be given once the Legacy 40 Challenge takes place in early January 2021.
Task 1
- Power Up a Pokemon 10 Times - Reward: 1,000 Stardust
- Catch 15 Pokemon - Reward: 3 Star Pieces
- Make 5 Nice Throws - Reward: 1,000 XP points
Task 1 Special Rewards: Rufflet Encounter, 750 Stardust, 1,000 XP points
Task 2
- Catch 15 Species of Pokemon - Reward: 1,000 Stardust
- Transfer 10 Pokemon to the Professor - Reward: Unova Stone
- Give 15 Pinap Berries to Pokemon while Catching - Reward: 1,000 XP points
Task 2 Special Rewards: 3 Premium Raid Passes, 750 Stardust, 1,000 XP points
Task 3
- Throw 3 "Great" Curveballs while Catching Pokemon - Reward: 1,000 Stardust
- Win 3 Raids - Reward: Sinnoh Stone
- Give your Buddy 10 Treats - Reward: 1,000 XP points
Task 3 Special Rewards: 3 Super Incubators, 750 Stardust, 1,000 XP points
Claim Rewards: Last Stop before Gyarados Cap
- Claim Rewards: Deino Encounter, 5,000 Stardust, 1,000 XP Points
- Special Rewards: 5,000 Stardust, Archen Encounter, Gyarados Cap
