The PS5 stock count is one of the most watched numbers by those excited to get their hands on the next-generation console. As of the moment, even reservations for the PlayStation 5 seems impossible for fans. Although it's been a while since the PS5 launch date happened, it seems like only a fortunate few can still get their hands on these consoles.
Are there any PS5 in stock?
According to the story by Forbes, Sony has actually been quite tight-lipped when it comes to the raging PS5 stock count as of the moment. Although the company has issued an official Tweet to thank everyone for their support, it seems like fans still have to wait to see the exact sales figures of just how many people ordered the PlayStation 5.
This actually is not a huge surprise since Jim Ryan has already talked about the PS5 pre-selling orders flooding within just a few hours as opposed to the PS4 which took a couple of weeks. It was stated that the scale of sales is unknown as to whether the PS5 is now selling at 30% more in comparison to the PS4 or about 300% more within the same period. The only thing that is keeping the numbers where it is as of the moment is the PS5 stock count.

PS5 'fastest selling console'
According to the data given by Forbes, the PS4 is known to be the 4th best-selling video game console throughout history. The PS5 however, has gotten off to a much stronger start. The previous PlayStation 4 was able to sell a whopping 113.5 million consoles according to its last count and it might actually beat the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color at a whopping 118.6 million.
This, however, can't really touch the previous PS2 numbers which still holds the record for the highest sales in history with a massive 155 recorded. The article by Forbes begs the question, could the PS5 beat them? This might be the case but fans still have to consider that there are still no sales figures presented and logistical complications have also emerged due to the ongoing pandemic.
As of the moment, the PS5 holds the title of the fastest selling console in the whole history of its own medium. Both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S are also experiencing the same phenomenon as their stocks are being depleted everywhere in the world. Microsoft has also not yet released its official sales count with their new consoles.
