The Amazing Apple M1 Chip

For Apple fans who want to try the chip itself, it's available in Apple's three newest products: the Macbook Air, the 13-inch Macbook Pro, and the Macbook Mini.

According to Tom's Hardware, each of the Macs has two configurations using the new chip, plus the Macbook Pro also includes two Intel configurations, while the Mac Mini only offers one Intel configuration.

So far, everything seems to be going great, performance-wise--except for Mac Mini users.

In a report by 9to5Mac, the M1 Mac Mini has been causing some troubles for its users, specifically with its Bluetooth connectivity.

Youtuber Complains About Mac Mini's Bluetooth Connectivity

One of the Mac Mini users who have been having troubles is Youtube personality Patrick Tomasso, who made a video and posted it on his Youtube channel, saying that he has tried to connect a wireless mouse to his Mac Mini using Bluetooth, but it's almost impossible to use said mouse as the connection gets lost most of the time.

Tomasso said that he created a video when the Mac Mini initially launched, praising the device and saying it's the "best" laptop he has ever used in terms of processor.

Nevertheless, the issue he's currently facing made him say that it also has the "worst Bluetooth performance" that he had ever experienced "on any piece of technology," recalling when he used both the Logitech MX Master 3 and the Magic Mouse 2, both of which have been losing connection to the M1 Mac Mini computer intermittently.

Furthermore, the Youtuber said he also experienced the same problems when connecting his Apple AirPods Pro as well as other wireless Bluetooth accessories to his computer.

It seems like Tomasso isn't the only user complaining about the Bluetooth performance of the M1 Mac Mini.

No Word From Apple Yet

A Reddit thread was created on subreddit r/macmini by user u/chew_bone, who said that the M1 Mac Mini they are using does not recognize the keyboard and mouse they are using on the very first boot, who's using a Logitech MX keys keyboard as well as an MX Master 3 mouse.

To solve the issue, the Redditor had to resort to a wired keyboard and mouse to go through the setup, and it would work well after pairing.

However, once the device gets rebooted, the keyboard and mouse are not connected yet again, so they'd have to use the wired versions to log in and pair the accessories to the computer.

As of writing, Apple has not commented yet on the issue, and it's quite unclear what's causing the Bluetooth connectivity issues, with some guessing it might be a software bug or a possible hardware malfunction.

Nevertheless, as more people raise their concerns, the company will most likely offer a solution sometime soon, but as of now, the only known solution is using a third-party Bluetooth receiver.
