After Epic released the final patch v14.60 for "Fortnite" chapter 2 season 4 on November 20, just less than two weeks before Fortnite season 5 begins, many have hoped it would include new features or items to the game. Instead, encrypted files for the upcoming "Fortnite" Galactus event were added.
While most data-miners were not able to leak the encrypted files, two data-miners managed to decrypt them. However, they still did not leak anything about the event. Despite the circumstances, some things about the "Fortnite" Galactus event were shared on social media including a rumored start date, some event leaks, and even the sound of the countdown alarm.
'Fortnite' Galactus Event start date: When is it Coming?
The "Fortnite" Galactus event is likely to begin on November 28 as previous live events took place at 2 PM ET on a Saturday. Basically, November 28 would be the last weekend before Season 5 takes place.
However, since Epic has not yet provided any official details, all dates for the "Fortnite" event showing up would remain a speculation unless it came from the developer itself. Also, once the exact time and date of the "Fortnite" event is has been confirmed, a countdown timer will appear and it is something we are looking forward to as early as November 22.
'Fortnite' Galactus Event Leaked Details
After Donald Mustard, "Fortnite's" worldwide creative director, stated in an interview that the upcoming event his would be the biggest event for the game, data-miners posted leaked information that the encrypted file size of the Galactus is over 4 GB. This was larger than the Travis Scott event was 450 MB as well as the final showdown event, which was 650 MB.
Also, it was rumored that the game will experience a downtime after the event, which is similar to what happened to the black hole event, but it is still uncertain how long it would take.
Meanwhile, the countdown alarm sounds have also been leaked and shared on Twitter by "Fortnite" dataminer @ Mangoe_. If the start date is correct, then we should be hearing the soundclip on the game in the coming days.
He also shared some leaks as seen on recent Fortnite update. He claimed there were changes to the sky added for the event as well as a mesh added on a closed Quinn Jet, which is different from the low-resolution aircraft flying through during the start of a match.
Meanwhile, since the files are still encrypted, he made a concept art of how the special sky and the Quinn jet would look like when the gamemode is loaded. Just a reminder though, these remain leaks until they are seen live on the game itself.
'Fortnite' Creative Update -V14.60
The above "Fortnite" Galactus event leaks allegedly came from the recent update made on "Fortnite" Season 4 on November 18. Among the highlights of this update is the ability to mute Elimination Audio as well as to hide the Elimination Feed, which would allow sneaky sniping.
Also, the layout of the Hub Island portal has been updated to include recent updates to the hub creator guidelines.
