Bluepoint's "Demon Souls Remake" has been rather successful as one of the launch titles with Sony's next-gen console, PlayStation 5, and many of the fans immediately getting a copy and hopping in the game--and immediately after, some have found a secret door in Boletarian Palace that was not in the original game.
Youtuber Distortion2 Unlocks the Secret Door
Since discovering the secret door, fans have immediately made it a task to open the secret door and find out what's behind it.
However, nobody has done it, except for Youtuber Distortion2, who managed to be the first one to unlock the door and its secrets, as per WCCFTech.
As it turns out, the key to opening the secret Boletarian Palace door is to collect 26 Ceramic Coins that are newly-added to the game and can be obtained in the Fractured Mode, then trading them to Sparkly the Crow in the Shrine of Storms in the Island's Edge.
There's a catch, though: Fractured Mode is only available once the players have completed "Demon's Souls Remake," which means you won't be able to get the door open unless you've beaten the game.
Players who reach Pure White or Pure Black Tendency levels during the Fractured Mode can find these Ceramic Coins in breakable boxes.
What Secret Does the Secret Door Hold?
After trading the coins, the crow will drop a Rusted Key, which "Demon's Souls" players can use to open the secret door that gives access to the secret veranda that the developers have actually teased earlier this week via their official Twitter account.
Once the secret door is opened and you walk out into the veranda, you will see a body remain with a complete Penetrator armor set, which looks really cool and is an immediate fan favorite.
The Penetrator armor belongs to a boss of the same name and is something the players have wanted since the original title was released.
During the stream where the Youtuber solved the secret, he said he was initially going to wait until he has collected 60 coins to make the trade, but when he did, he speculated that the 26 coins are an ode to the 26 years that have passed since "King's Field" was released by FromSoftware.
Before Distortion2 was able to crack the puzzle, many theorized that using the Gold Coins will unlock the secret door since, as per Polygon, Bluepoint's "Shadow of the Colossus Remake" had a similar puzzle.
More Puzzles and Secrets?
According to ScreenRant, the secret door and the secret veranda are the most significant changes in the remake from the original title so far.
But given Bluepoint's affinity to making secrets, it won't be surprising if the devs add another secret in "Demon's Souls Remake" in the future, with some speculating a DLC is coming.
However, until the developers say anything, it's nothing but a rumor and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
"Demon's Souls Remake" is available on the next-gen console, PlayStation 5 and was released with the console's launch.
