"Among Us" developers InnerSloth has a gift to their avid fans as they teased a new map that will be added to the game soon.
'Among Us' New Map Teased
The devs only showed one room, which is the cockpit of the ship and includes several elements that avid players are familiar with, such as the vent that the Impostor could use to sneakily attack enemies and get out of sight quick, as well as a wifi box for downloads and a wiring box that can activate some stuff.
According to Polygon, the map directly references another InnerSloth title called "The Henry Stickmin Collection," which is available on Steam.
Based on its Steam description, the game is a "choose-your-own-path where failing is more fun than succeeding" and features a stick figure.
Unfortunately, InnerSloth did not add anything else but did say in a following tweet that "Among Us" fans should tune in on the upcoming The Game Awards 2020 happening on December 10 as things are "getting reaaaaal suspicious over there."
It's highly likely that fans will be getting the full berth of the upcoming "Among Us" update, including the new map.
Nominated for Two Awards
The Game Awards 2020 is an annual award show for games and developers, run by the industry veteran Geoff Keighley and pretty much the Academy Awards show of the gaming industry, plus it also doubles as the event where major game announcements are made.
GameSpot has the full list of game categories and the nominees, where "Among Us" is nominated for a Best Mobile Game and Best Multiplayer award.
"Among Us" will be competing against hit mobile games like "Call of Duty Mobile" and "Genshin Impact" for the Best Mobile Game, while it's up against "Valorant" and "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" for the Best Multiplayer award.
Meanwhile, Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us 2" leads the pack with a whopping ten nominations, including the Game of the Year Award, where it's pitted against Sucker Punch's "Ghost of Tsushima," Nintendo's "Animal Crossing: New Horizons," Square Enix's "Final Fantasy VII Remake," Supergiant's "Hades," and id Software's "DOOM Eternal."
Fans of the aforementioned games can vote for their favorite titles that can help them win via The Game Awards' official website.
An Instant 2020 Hit
"Among Us" was initially launched in 2018, but it has new-found popularity this 2020, where it became an instant hit.
Since then, InnerSloth has announced a sequel for the game but put the project on hold indefinitely and said that they would be focusing on the original game instead and improve it further due to its massive popularity.
The game is available for Android and iOS devices, but it's also available on Steam, so people can even play it via their PC and Macs and play with their friends.
Practically, the game matches you with a few other players, and one or a couple of players will be randomly chosen as the Imposters that the other players need to find and vote out before everyone gets killed off.
