Awesome Games Done Quick is about one thing: playing through games as quickly as possible to raise money for cancer. The week-long event is held every year, featuring some of the best gamers in the country. Viewers can make donations to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, enter raffles for prizes and vote on specific conditions for the next marathon. Year after year, the event continues to grow, and the event has already hit its fundraising goal as of last night.
While all of the above is great, Awesome Games Done Quick 2015 saw something that no other event ever has. After reaching the end of his Mischief Makers marathon, a speedrunner going by the name Jackafur took a moment to fish something out of his pocket, get down on one knee and ask his longtime girlfriend a very important question:
Seeing a group of gamers get excited and leap out of their seats isn't so uncommon, but watching a room full of some of the most hardcore gamers in the world melt at the sight of something so adorable is one-in-a-million. As soon as Jackafur stands up, it's obvious what's he's going to do, and watching the audience react is almost as good as watching Lilly (Jack's girlfriend) turn into a curled-up ball of emotion.
Awesome Games Done Quick means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but for these two players, the 2015 event will forever be something truly special.
The full Mischief Makers marathon can be seen below (the proposal itself begins at 1:14:02):
