The announcement of the Apple iPhone 12 Mini garnered quite the attention as fans of tech and small phones alike were curious to see what Apple could do once again with a smaller phone that is easier to fit into everyone's pockets. While phones have been getting smaller these days, a segment of the users have been wishing that they would go back to be as portable as they used to be back in the day.
Apple iPhone 12 Mini size and performance
An article by xda-developers unboxed the iPhone 12 Mini as well as the iPhone 12 Pro Max at the very same time in order to get a decent comparison. According to the unboxing, the user was quite surprised as to just how small the iPhone 12 Mini actually was. It was said to fit in almost all pockets and could be used with just one hand quite easily.
The design was said to be small but mighty rocking a 5.4 inch vertical screen that is only 2.5 inches wide and weighs just about 0.3 lbs which could be a little hard for reading, but it's iOS's UI is able to display content at a much larger scale in comparison to Android according to the article.
iPhone 12 Mini vs. iPhone 12
It was stated that because the notch that houses the Apple's Face ID system still remains the very same size across all of the different iPhone 12 series, the iPhone 12 Mini still loses a significant percentage of screen space to that notch. It was also stated that aside from the small size, just about everything that the iPhone 12 Mini has is very identical to the other standard iPhone 12.
With its almost identical to the iPhone 12 in general, users can pick directly between either getting the iPhone 12 Mini or getting the iPhone 12. Although some would like a beefier looking iPhone, there are still those that appreciate the smaller and more convenient to carry iPhone 12 Mini.

iPhone 12 Mini battery life problem
One big problem, according to an article by CNET, is that this iPhone Mini has quite a small battery life. Although smaller and uses lesser energy, the 2,227 mAh is quite an adjustment to most iPhone users better used to at least 4,000 mAh of battery. It was also stated by xda-developers that they experienced a problem trying to last a whole day with the iPhone 12 connected to 5G. The same goes for the iPhone 12 Mini.
This battery was said to last although a couple of hours, not the full day. This could be very inconvenient for users who are not accustomed to carry around a powerbank in case of an emergency charge. For those who usually carry their bags however, this won't be a problem but it can still be quite inconvenient.
