The next-generation console will soon come to a wide public release, particularly those who have pre-purchased, scheduled for Thursday, November 12.
Gamers and enthusiasts alike are awaiting the latest console from the Japanese multinational conglomerate, Sony, who introduced the PlayStation 5 early this year. The PS5 will soon replace the PS4 as the standard in console gaming in the near future and Sony's transition to next-generation gaming.

How to Transfer Data from PS4 to PS5: Sony Anticipates PS5 Queries with Video FAQs on YouTube
As promised, the PlayStation 5 will ship out from Sony's factories and retailers on Thursday, November 12, for the United States and North American region. The United Kingdom region and other parts of the world would receive their next-generation console by November 19.
A week before the launch, PlayStation Support's YouTube channel releases several videos that all point to the "Frequently Asked Questions" or FAQs regarding the new PS5. The videos break down early subjects surrounding the release of the PS5.
Sony anticipates that there would be a barrage of questions to descend upon them, and since the world is on lockdown, the online medium would be flooded. The coronavirus pandemic still leaves the country in quarantine modes and settings, making it almost impossible to head up to Sony's service centers or retailers.
PlayStation Support: Here's How to Transfer Old PS4 Data to New PS5
According to PlayStation Support's recently uploaded video, there are numerous ways on how to transfer old PS4 game, user, and progress data to the next-generation console that would soon ship-out. Since there is still a limited number of releases for the PS5, backward compatibility would be the library's game source.
Data Transfer
- Update PlayStation 4 to Latest Version
- Sign-in using intended PS Account (Both PS4 and PS5)
- Connect PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 to the same network (WiFi)
or
- Connect both consoles via Ethernet
- Follow System Instructions on PS4 transfer game data, games, etc.
Disc
- Insert intended Blu-Ray Game Disc to PS5 to Install Game
External HDD
- Copy PS4 Games from Console on External Hard Disk Drive (HDD)
- Plug-and-play external HDD to PS5 to run the game.
- HDD can also copy PS4's Saved User and Game Data to transfer to PS5
PlayStation Store
- Sign-in using PlayStation Account using PS5 Console
- Download the game from Game Library or PlayStation Store
Do not forget to transfer Saved Data via:
- External Hard Disk Drive, USB Flash Drive, or Data Transfer
or
- PlayStation Plus Cloud Storage option (must have an active and valid PS Plus Subscription)
- Upload Saved Data via PS Network Cloud Storage
- Download Saved Data to PS5
Sony recommends always use the same account for both consoles to transfer all the data accurately and precisely. Different PlayStation accounts would not allow another's user, game, and saved data to function and be used by the other.
