'Among Us': How to Play Hide and Seek, Rules, Game Mode, Spots and More

"Among Us" is a game for all ages as long as you know how to move your fingers across the screen and play along with others. It is recognized as one of the obsessing games this 2020. The game boomed during this pandemic wherein most people are staying in their homes and busy with their own gadgets.

'Among Us' Hide and Seek Game Mode: How to Play?

Hide and Seek can only be played with a group of friends since there are rules to follow. Otherwise, the game will not have a thrill in it. Since there's no genuine way to implement these rules through a real custom game mode.

Hit your buddies up and set a schedule to play "Among Us"! But before that, here are some tips and tricks on how you play Hide and Seek according to Inverse.

'Among Us' Hide and Seek: The Game Setting

Start by creating a room and change its settings to any of the variations below:

Number of Imposters: 1
Emergency meeting: 1
Player Speed: 1.5x - 3x
Crewmate Visions: 2x - 5x
Imposter Vision: 0.25x
Kill Cooldown: 15 seconds
Kill Distance: Short
Tasks: 6 - 9 in total

To add more spice to the game especially to the Crewmates, you can decrease their vision to 0.25x just like the Imposter if you want to equalize the playing field. You can also add the number of tasks that the crewmates need to finish for the game to end.

'Among Us' Hide and Seek Game Rules

Here are some guidelines the players must follow once the game starts to be able to play Hide and Seek efficiently:

1. Start the game with an Emergency Meeting so the Imposter can reveal themselves.
2. Once everyone know who the killer is, everyone vote to skip so the game can get underway.
3. Crewmates get a 15-second head start (can be longer depends on you) to run absent and cover-up while the Imposter holds up within the meeting room.
4. After the headstart, the Imposter begins hunting down the crew.
5. Crewmates have to finish their tasks while avoiding the Imposter and they can't report kills.

NOTE: Crewmate must finish all of their tasks to win or before the Imposter kills everyone which leads to defeat.

However, Sportskeeda claimed that popular Youtubers like Ssundee, Cartoonz, and The Rawnkee Games eventually came up with a new mode with almost the same game setting as above. And added some game rules such as the following:

  • Crewmates cannot fix lights sabotaged by the impostor.
  • Impostors are not allowed to sabotage the map other than switching off the lights.
  • Dead bodies in the game can't be reported.
  • No Emergency Meetings can be called in-game.
  • Crewmates need to finish all their tasks to win the game before the impostor kills the entire crew.

Its a unique approach to the game which raises the adrenaline rush of the players, and hopefully be a new separate kind of mode in "Among Us" in the future.

'Among Us' Hide and Seek Spots

The Skeld, Mira HQ, and Polus map in 'Among Us' have special places to hide. You can squeeze into camouflage yourself if you are laying low in while doing tasks. Since the Imposter's vision is so restricted, stowing away in plain sight is your best bet while remaining hidden.

The Skeld Hiding Spots

Here are best hiding spots

  • Behind the floating box in Storage (only works some of the time).
  • Behind the chair in Communications.-Behind the top part of the Reactor (works best with White color astronaut).

Mira HQ Hiding Spots

  • In the balcony, behind the satellite dish.
  • Behind the bookshelf in storage (be ready to bolt out the door).

Polus Hiding Spots

  • Behind rock below the Laboratory.
  • Behind the satellite dish that sticks out of Communications.
  • Behind the cannons outside of Weapons.

So what are you waiting for? Try these out and overpower the Imposter if you are a Crewmate or at least know how they will catch you as an Imposter in "Among Us."
