Big reveal of who Anonymous is in real life. The face behind the group

The reveal of Aubrey Cottle by the Atlantic finally gave a face to the Anonymous group of hackers. Cottle wrote in a particular post on Reddit that Anonymous has involvement in all walks of life. Included in these walks of life is obviously the hacker type.

Just recently, Anonymous has revealed that as important as the hackers, there are now others that are mobilizing online and also spreading awareness, by doing research, and also collaborating in the manner. Anonymous then called out others to step up and help the group.

The infamous Anonymous and what it has done in the past

Ever since Anonymous peaked back in 2010, the group of hackers have slowly faded from the eye of the public due to a series of different arrests, but a brand new generation now seems to be taking up the whole mantle. According to an article by Market Watch, some time earlier this year, a particular person that was identifying as Anonymous was able to leak hundreds of gigabytes of different internal police files coming from over 200 agencies in a series of reveals called the #BlueLeaks.

In the viral "Ask Me Anything" threads on Reddit, Anonymous was asked what the end goal was and the response was to bring the QAnon game towards a conclusion. It was then explained that for the previous months, Anonymous' focus has been directly more on QAnon and therefore abandoning almost everything else being done.

The ultimate goal as of the moment is to stop the QAnon

Cottle then detailed that to do this, it was necessary to fight against the QAnon and that it was not what people believed to be. According to Anonymous, the alleged group even had a hand in the spread of child pornography as covered by Mother Jones.

Facebook has reportedly been involved in the removal of this movement by being able to remove about 1,500 different pages, groups, as well as profiles all associated with the group. Facebook has been public about banning QAnon and now, Anonymous has joined in the hunt to stop them.

When asked what the future of Anonymous is by specifically questioning what the next generation of hackers are looking to fight for, Cottle stated that it was Privacy rights, monolithic megacorporations that own everything about people and their lives, and big data.
