The United States' residents are currently relying on Google to know more about the 2020 Election Day. They also used it to search for things that can help cope with the results if ever their candidates lost.
According to Business Insider's latest report, the "election" word is the top search across the globe. On the other hand, the top trending search is "live election results."
When it comes to the presidential candidates, the Democratic nominee Joe Biden is the most searched person on Tuesday, Oct. 3. As reported by Google Trends, Biden has 50% of candidate searches, while the U.S. President Donald Trump has 42%.
What Americans are searching for coping with the election
Since the U.S. 2020 Election's results were not declared on Oct. 3, Americans spent their time looking for things that can help them deal with their uncertainty.
Google Trends tweeted that many people are currently searching the word "anxiety." Its current record is higher than the previous ones.
Because of the sudden increase, the Google Trends team announced that Americans should check in with family and friends to look out for their well-being.
On the other hand, Americans are also looking for comfort foods. These include "pizza near me," which is the highest searched food currently, followed by "Chinese food near me," "sushi near me," and "Mexican food near me."
The U.S. residents are also looking for "liquor store near me," and "fries near me."
Most searched political topics
Since the year 2021 hasn't been good for everyone, Americans are currently searching for political topics that can affect their life status. "Unemployment" is the leading political term in Google Searches.
The second-most searched term in the past seven days is "wages," followed by "crime," "race," and "health care."
