The popular Robotic vacuum giant, iRobot has just sent out a warning some time this week to select owners of the specific product known as the Roomba i7+. The warning noted that the actual Clean Base docking station could have the potential to either malfunction or worse, cause a short circuit.
iRobot's revelation regarding the malfunctions and actual purpose
According to iRobot's statement to CrunchBase, the concerns come from alleged "very rare cases," wherein the said liquids are all deposited into the shown Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal unit. The statement said that the company has learned about how the Roomba i7+ Clean Base's very own docking stations could suddenly malfunction or might potentially present a particular hazard if there are liquids collected.
Once the Roomba i7+ robot vacuum collects liquids, they could become hazardous once they are deposited straight into the very Clean Base unit. The company then said in its statement towards TechCrunch that their vacuums were only supposedly designed to clean up after dirt and debris located on dry floors and carpets. They stated that it was never designed to pick up on any particular forms of liquids.
The company sys around 222,000 units could be affected
The company firmly believes that around a whopping 222,000 units are all potentially impacted by the issue. Of the said number, the majority of around 210,000 were all sold in portions of North America. The emails and the app notifications have all reportedly been sent to the Roomba i7+ users all alerting them of the problem.
The company stated that it will then be sending a replacement power cord or another docking station to those whose products have the affected serial numbers. The said i7+ was previously released some time in 2018 while the system sports some type of key advancements in the mapping smarts. These were done along with the known impacted docking, which then automatically cleans the Roomba's own on-board bin.

The convenience of these robots in cleaning the house
While the Roomba i7+ is one of the most convenient ways of cleaning one's living room, bedroom, or other parts of the house, the recent reports could mean a step back for the popularity of this cleaning device for some people. Although it is still very helpful, the lack in its ability to clean wet surfaces could be a problem for some people who like to leave the cleaning robot on the floor and allow it to clean the entire house.
Most people buy a cleaning robot with the notion that it is able to clean the entire house as just the dry surfaces. The main convenience that the robot promises, although not all the way, is something the mail selling point of the product.
