'Resident Evil 3' May Come to Nintendo Switch Soon as Cloud Version Logo Was Spotted

On Wednesday, October 28, Nintendo announced that some games in Cloud version will be arriving to Switch such as "Remedy's Hitman 3" and "Control." While 'Control" is now available on the Switch Shop, Resetera users spotted another game's cover art being featured on the website.

Resetera is the site where "Control" is streamed to Switch while the appearance of "Resident Evil" 3 Cloud Version cover art in the website may suggest that the game could also be released for Switch in the future. While the image has already been removed, a screenshot of the Capcom's classic was uploaded by Resetera users.

'Resident Evil 3' Cloud version

Capcom's "Resident Evil 3" is a remake of the zombie classic game introduced to PSOne in 1999. It now boasts new graphics, additional content, and better controls, which Nintendo Switch owners will surely enjoy if the game indeed arrives to the platform.

While Nintendo has been experimenting with the idea of making the "Resident Evil 3" available in Switch just like how it did with "Assassin's Creed Odyssey" and "Resident Evil 7," which are now playable in the console via the cloud. Cloud gaming allows more technically heavy games to be played in Nintendo Switch, despite the console's weaker hardware than Xbox One or PS4. This extends the Switch's existence in the following years.

However, playing a game through the cloud requires a really fast and reliable Internet connection. While lag can be a huge concern in reaction-based titles, it should not be an issue with "Resident Evil 3" as it is a slow-paced game.

'Resident Evil 3': Datamine Hints Switch Port

Meanwhile, back in March, the survival horror game was analyzed and dataminers were shocked of their discovery. As the Resident Evil 3 Remake demo was datamined by YouTuber FluffyQuack as revealed in the video.

Among the long list of features are notifications specific to each version being played. The prompt says: "This game has an autosave feature, please do not turn off your," which is then followed by the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC as well as the Nintendo Switch. There are also lines pertaining to each platform's electronic store such as Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo Switch Eshop, respectively.

The inclusion of Switch came as a surprise as "Resident Evil 3" Remake can be too heavy for the gaming console. However, Rely on Horror writers drafted some possibilities on how to bring the zombie game to Switch.

First, Capcom may be releasing a super scaled-down version of the game, so it runs on Switch and low-end PCs. Secondly, Nintendo may produce the Super Switch, which makes it more comparable to other gaming consoles. Finally, Capcom may release a streamable version, which is similar to RE7.

Since the first two did not come true yet, we are just banking on the third idea as hinted by the cover art. Well, it is highly possible since Nintendo has created Cloud versions for the RE7 as well as the "Assassin's Creed Odyssey." Let's hope the Japanese gaming giant could make an announcement about it soon.
