According to Android Central's latest report, the update allows users to quickly enter and exit full-screen mode while a video is playing in real-time. It's easy as one, two, three.

All you need to do is swipe down to exit and swipe up to enter full screen. The social media platform also moved the "closed captions" option to the overlay menu, making the captions more comfortable to access.

Not only that, but YouTube also moved the toggle button to the top screen, allowing users to quickly turn it on and off while they are watching their favorite content. There are also several buttons that have been re-arranged as well for a more simplified look.

YouTube extended Video Chapters feature

The popular video platform has extended its Video Chapters feature. This update will show a complete list of the chapters that are included in a video the user is watching.

The video aired shortly before European parliamentary elections and in it Rezo tears apart CDU policies over issues including education, social inequality and the environment, and he also urges viewers to vote neither for the CDU, the German Social Democrats (SPD) nor the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD). The video, which has been viewed at least 12 million times, has sparked controversy since CDU leader Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer commented on it, in what many interpret as a demand for censorship. A preview thumbnail is also included, giving the users more straightforward video navigation on the platform.

YouTube previously released new chapters on desktop version

The Verge recently reported that YouTube is also rolling out a new chapters feature in May. 28. It was released to all users on phones, desktop, and tablets.

What it does is to make skipping videos easier, just like turning the page of a book. Although it is not that big, it helps the people to navigate to the video they want.

Its design has a bar with little black breaks in it, showing the video progress. The appearance will indicate where each chapter ends, and the new one starts.

The look will also apply to how chapters work on YouTube's mobile version.
