Look: Here's How SpaceX Deploys 60 New Starlink Satellites Into Space

The SpaceX Falcon 9 has recently launched once again into space with another mission to launch even more Starlink satellites into space. The mission was successful in deploying 60 new satellites into space.

Starlink recently had their initial beta test and although it seemed successful, they are still planning to widen the scope of their testing as well as send more satellites into space before their initial launch to the public.

SpaceX's Starlink plan to send 12,000 and hopefully up to 42,000 satellites

The initial plan is to send a total of 12,000 satellites into space with the possibility of reaching a total of 42,000 in the future. This, of course, depends on the success of the 12,000 satellites that are sent to space.

Starlink's main goal is to be able to provide cheaper and more effective internet connection around the world especially places that have really expensive but also unreliable internet connection. Aside from the United States, there are places in Asia that provide both expensive and also unreliable internet connection. An explanation on Quora broke down why the internet connection is so expensive.

Although Starlink is currently a work in progress, the company has already gained a huge deal of attention due to its visionary plan to provide both uninterrupted and affordable internet connection by the use of low-orbital satellites in space.

Starlink's acknowledgement of the importance of internet connection

This, of course, has never been done before on a scale that Starlink aims to achieve. The commercial success of these Starlink satellites will be not only a milestone for humanity, it will also be a step closer towards global digitalization.

One of the defining factors that differentiate first-world countries from third-world countries is the quality of their internet connection. Faster internet connection could mean the faster exchange of information and also an acceleration in learning.

While some countries have easily adjusted to the whole "study-from-home" trend due to the ongoing pandemic, other countries are having a hard time due to the unavailability and unreliability of internet connection.

Even T-mobile previously announced the severity of internet connection needs in an article written on their website. Starlink has seen this problem way before the pandemic and due to Elon Musk's SpaceX, it was much easier for Starlink satellites to be launched into space. It was also announced that Starlink will be made public later on in an article by Quartz. The report was made back in February when things were only starting with Starlink.

Currently, there are about over 800 satellites all in space as of the moment. Although this is far from the ideal 12,000 satellites, this is still a step forward as the company has only started sending satellites to space just this 2020.
