Apple's iPhone 12: No Accessories to Reduce Carbon Emissions
Social Media influencer Safwan AhmedMia (@SuperSaf) recently created a thread that asked users for their opinions regarding Apple's decision to remove the accessories in the package for all of the iPhone 12's line. AhmedMia indicated that Apple did this in order to reduce its carbon emissions annually, as told by the company in the release.
Twitter users were enraged and riled up as the influencer creates the thread asking for thoughts. Users argue that this is only a way for the company to ask more money from people, having all the additional accessories sold separately.
While some present their rage and dismay over Apple's decision, a couple of Twitter users defend the Cupertino giant and notices its endeavor to help save the planet.
How Much Can Apple Reduce?
Notably, Apple claims that it can reduce 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions by shrinking the box alone and removing the essential accessories. Not only that, fewer trucks and transport will be needed to ship the same volume of iPhone 12 to various locations globally.
Famous tech reviewer and "teardown expert" JerryRigEverything (@ZacksJeryRig) agrees with the new path Apple takes for the iPhone 12.
