After reports of cheaters or hackers ruining the others' game experience earlier this week, Nintendo's newest game Super Mario Bros. 35 already received its first patch a week after its release.
Some players appear to get 99,999 just after playing the battle royale game once, so they all rank first. Nintendo is acting fast against any YouTube tutorial that teaches cheating or hacking in the game as some videos were already taken down.
Super Mario Bros. 35 was launched in October 1, just in time for the game's 35th anniversary, but Nintendo already released a patch to resolve the known bugs and issues. Below are complete patch notes released on October 8 in Nintendo's support page.
Version 1.0.1 (General Fixes)
- Fixed an issue where enemies would continue to appear within the current screen area without the player moving forward.
- Fixed an issue where certain player icons were not displaying correctly in Coin Ranking.
- Fixed other issues to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Super Mario Bros. 35 Gameplay
Super Mario Bros. 35 is a battle-royale game to celebrate its 35th anniversary, in which players play against each other with the original game. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can exclusively purchase it in the Nintendo Switch eShop, but it is playable only on a limited time until March 31, 2021.
The ultimate goal of the game is to be the last runner wherein players are ranked based on the coins they earned. The collected coins can be used to unlock things, including different levels or a power-up. Player's game progress is also based on the coins they collected.
In each rounds, 35 players will be featured to simultaneously play through the same level of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Defeated enemies are sent into other players' courses. Players can get a boost with power-ups while they can also get an edge with the right analog stick, which wil allow them to choose between four strategies: Most Coins, Lowest Time, Attackers, or Random.
Nintendo published a brief trailer, which shows the interface to appear similar to the one in 2019's Tetris 99, which is also an unexpected battle royale game for a classic franchise.
However, Polygon reported that the idea was probably based on Mario Royale, which was created by a developer named InfernoPlus in which 75 players battle against each other. The game was later named DMCA Royale as Nintendo slapped the develop with DMCA copyright claims.
