We're only 10 months in 2020 and it already feels like we're having a zombie apocalypse. In fact, this October 2020 is actually going to be an on-brand Halloween-hosting month. After the recent Full Harvest Moon that kicked off back in October 1, it was then followed up by the ultra-rare Blue Moon that is set to happen on Halloween itself. Zombie storms are also reportedly on the way.
"Zombie storms" are known as tropical storms that resurrect after dying. This is exactly what happened with Hurricane Paulette, which resulted to the landfall on Bermuda back in September 14 as the whole Category 1 storm was strengthened into a Category 2, before actually losing speed and dying down. On September 28 just 300 miles off of the Azores, she suddenly resurrected back!
The undead weather and harsh conditions
The undead weather phenomenon is quite rare but not technically unknown. This was last seen with the previously known Hurricane Ivan back in 2004 of this year. However, these occurrences really depend on perfectly ripe conditions for them to happen.
Paulette already existed in unusual company. Its own peak hurricane season happened in the Atlantic which has seen five active tropical cyclones formed all at once this September. This is only the very second time that occurrences like these were recorded in history.
The approaching storms from all around
The Atlantic Ocean tropical storms started to form due to the known combination of other warmer waters happening near Africa as well as the westward wind that also helps them be on their way going across the whole ocean straight towards America. If there is a supply of both warm water and wind, they are able to continue just like in the Caribbean.
However, if the known conditions actually remain favorable for the known hurricane, they then do not necessarily remain dead, and also with climate change already making the hurricane season much stronger, longer, and warmer, these storms then may insist on coming back to life more often.
Meteorologist confirms possibility
According to a certain CNN meteorologist named Brandon Miller, 2020 is going to be a good candidate for these zombie storms due to the water temperatures going above the average bulk of the known Atlantic Ocean and that there are obviously more storms now meaning more chances that one of them could regenerate.
Two full moons are also to hit October. Visible on October 2, the Moon will actually be joined along with Mars resulting in making a very red and very bright appearance due to the actual distance between both the Red Planet and earth being way too short as of the moment. Come this Halloween, another rare second Full Moon is said to occur called the Blue Moon which only comes out every 2.5 to 3 years.
