Blizzard announced its most famous event. This time, it will be online, and it is set for February 2021. BlizzCon convention was previously canceled because of the ongoing pandemic caused by COVID-19.
However, the company said that it would replace it with an online-only event called BlizzConline, held on February 19 until February 20, 2021, with all the latest updates around its popular franchises Diablo, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Hearthstone.
The official Twitter account of Blizzard posted its announcement.
"BlizzConline is set to take place February 19-20, 2021!" captioned Blizzard Entertainment.
"There's lots of planning left to do, but we wanted to provide an early heads-up on how you can take part in the online festivities!" the company added.
In 2019, the game publisher announced its major new titles, including Diablo 4 and Overwatch2. This means that the online event would likely provide some updates about the latest games. The tweet also included a link to its blog post, which explained the activities that would take place during BlizzConline.
Get ready for Blizzard's new "Community Showcase" event
BlizzConline is planning to showcase its new "Community Showcase" event, allowing artists, co-play crafters, and other community creators to participate and display their talents. The company explained that since it will be an online-only event, the activities will be accessible to more people worldwide.
Blizzard also announced that it is currently assembling a unique activity called "March of the Murlocs," inviting the fans to send images and videos to join in. The company warned that those interested should be mindful of the appropriate health guidelines when they're going to take group-based photos, videos, and other submissions.
BlizzConline's other activities include Cosplay Exhibition, Cosplay Contest, Art Contest, Digital Storytelling Contest, and Talent Spotlight.
