'Animal Crossing' Will Crossover With Nintendo Legend 'Super Mario' Next Year!

Two Nintendo legends are teaming up to bring fun to fans around the world.

According to a report by GamesRadar, one of 2020's biggest games, Animal Crossing, has confirmed that there will be a set of Super Mario-themed furniture coming to the game--but before anyone can get excited, they're arriving next year.

The announcement has been made via the game's official Twitter account.

Super Mario is Coming to the Island!

Based on the report, the collaboration is one way of celebrating the iconic Super Mario and its 35th anniversary, but the new Animal Crossing content won't arrive until March 2021, putting it outside of the franchise's anniversary.

Moreover, Nintendo didn't give any clue as to what kind of furniture players will be getting, but it won't be surprising to see the classic elements from the franchise, including mushrooms, bricks, and pipes.

Since the world of Animal Crossing is quite vast, fans may even get wallpapers or classical paintings and art pieces inspired by the Super Mario games' characters.

But players won't have to wait until 2021 to see new content in-game as September is an excellent time for ACNH players, especially with the arrival of the new season and people are gearing up for fall, and for the first time, players will see some seasonal changes.

ACNH Changes for September

According to Essentially Sports, summertime flowers in the Northern hemisphere will stop blooming, and there will be a few missing critters that will only make their reappearance after the season changes next year, and spring comes yet again.

Besides these changes, players will also see a variety of seasonal crafting materials that should be available throughout the island.

For example, if you shake the trees longer than usual, you should be able to get Acorns and Pine Cones that you can use as materials for seasonal items and seasonal DIY recipes, including the Balancing Toy, an Acorn Pochette bag, as well as the Pine Bonsai Tree.

However, these are apparently only available in the Northern Hemisphere as they were already present in the game for those who live down south.

3D Mario Collection Announced

In other news, Nintendo Switch owners are in for more treat as the company has also announced the 3D Mario collection that will be coming to the handheld console this month.

In a report by Kotaku, the collection is called Super Mario 3D All-Stars and will be coming out on September 18, including the following games:

  • Super Mario 64
  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Super Mario Galaxy

Nevertheless, it seems as the collection will only be temporary as the press release by the company stated that it would be a "a limited production of Super Mario 3D All-Stars launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch family of systems on September 18 and will be available until approximately March 31, 2021."

Many believe the collection is also part of the franchise's anniversary.

Although limited, that gives Switch owners plenty of time to get the game if they wanted to revisit the old 3D Mario games on their portable console.
