Although there are plenty of online games, board gamers are still fun to play--no matter what is your age, it is inevitable not to show competitiveness.
Despite the rise of mobile games, the Pokémon Company International has decided to release the Pokémon Trading Card Game Battle Academy. This is the first-ever board-game adaptation of the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), available at participating physical and online retailers.
The newly released board game is designed for Trainers of all types, including parents and children who may be new to the Pokémon TCG. Pokémon TCG gameplay offers "an easy-to-learn and fun-to-play experience for the whole family as it comes in a classic board-game format."
"For more than 20 years, the beloved Pokémon Trading Card Game has connected people across the globe over their shared love of collecting cool cards, trading them with friends, and playing the official game," said J.C. Smith, senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International.
"With Battle Academy, we are excited to give families a fun and accessible way to spend quality time together while bonding over something both kids and longtime fans of the franchise adore: Pokémon TCG cards."
Each Pokémon TCG Battle Academy box comes with a two-player game board, three 60-card decks, tutorial guides, gameplay accessories, and a code card for the free-to-play Pokémon Trading Card Game Online on iOS, Android, and Pokemon.com.
How to play Pokémon TCG Battle
Every pokemon card shows the character, evolution stage, type, and HP (how much damager before the character is knocked out). Among the basic pokemons are Pikachu and Eevee. Each of them has different attacks, and the card will also show you how much damage the character can make.
Your pokemon can't attack without an energy card attached. For Pikachu, you need lightning energy so you can use the iron tail attack. Always check the energy symbol of your card. If you are using Eevee, for example, it has a colorless symbol--it means you can use any type of energy to attack.
