The alleged murderer of CEO Fahim Saleh was arrested on Friday, July 17, and it was his personal assistant. The tech CEO was found dismembered and beheaded in his apartment located in Manhattan this week. The New York Times reported that the two officials briefed on the matter said the PA is expected to be charged in the gruesome murder.
The assistant was accused of dismembering Saleh's body after he returned to the CEO's apartment on July 14. A medical examiner of the New York Times announced on Thursday, July 16, that multiple stab wounds caused Saleh's death to his torso and neck. The murder was believed to be done by a professional killer; a law enforcement official described the killing as a hit.
Detectives concluded that the murderer's gruesome act was interrupted when Saleh's sister ringed from the building's lobby, forcing the suspect to escape through the condo's back door and into a stairwell.
"Fahim is more than what you are reading," said the victim's family, saying that the murder was so shocking it was unfathomable.
"He is so much more. His brilliant and innovative mind took everyone who was a part of his world on a journey, and he made sure never to leave anyone behind," they added.
