The survival horror genre of video games has developed substantially, and some become scarier but thrilling in many ways. Alternative ways to play like virtual reality and online multiplayer have allowed the survival horror genre to innovate in different ways. This innovation proves that there is a huge and expanding market for fans of survival horror games that isn't going anywhere.

Rule Of Rose (Playstation 2)

Capcom's Rule Of Rose is the main attention of significant interest and controversy. With this game being famous for the scrutiny that it was banned in most of the countries. They have stashed the game and isn't very well-known outside of survival horror enthusiasts. The game has been criticized for including child abuse. One of the biggest critiques of the actual game is its awkward controls and gameplay, which could be resolved with a modern-day remake.

Clock Tower (SNES)

The game was released by the company Human Entertainment in 1988, but now-disbanded Japanese video game developer. Clock Tower is a cult-classic game set in a haunted mansion that follows the story of a young orphan named Jennifer Simpson, who is adopted, along with three other girls, by the seemingly amicable Mary Barrows. When the other girls went missing, Jennifer must navigate through ghosts, monsters, and traps to escape the mansion or defeat her captors. Clock Tower's focus on evasion and not directly fighting enemies and its unique point-and-click gameplay style would surely catch the survival horror fans' attention.

Fatal Frame (Playstation 2)

The game was released last 2011, "Based on a true story," The Fatal Frame game got popular for its frightening gruesome and apparitions tales of the people killed in the Himuro Mansion. The series is also most well-known for the player's only defense against the ghosts that pursue them, also known as Camera Obscura.

Silent Hill (Playstation)

As one of the most popular games in the survival horror genre, with the countless spin-offs, and two films, the original Silent Hill entry in 1999 still on the track till today. The game features an interesting plot, chilling monsters, and the iconic setting of Silent Hill.

Many fans don't know that the iconic fog that appears throughout the town, like the movie, was a method by which the developers overcame the limited capabilities of the Playstation. But with the importance of the original entry and how it connects to the gamers, it would be expected to have a remake.

Obscure (Multiple Platforms)

One of the most players' choices when it comes to a cooperative multiplayer element is Obscure. The story follows five teenagers who exposed a gruesome secret about their high school. Although the somewhat common setting and story, the game is one of the great candidates to be remade as an online survival horror game.
